A few years ago, a sentence like "We have a sustainability policy and expect our suppliers to reflect that" was often quietly ignored. These days, clients mean it. Some are working towards formal net zero targets. Some need to report on their Scope 3 emissions, which means your material choices end up in their ESG documentation. And a growing number are simply tired of being handed "eco-friendly" as a marketing claim with nothing behind it.
